The Tax Collector is elected for a three-year term; the Deputy Tax Collector is chosen by the Tax Collector with the approval of the Board of Selectmen.

Purpose

The Tax Collector is responsible for collecting all taxes due to the Town of Danville.

Property Taxes

Property taxes are billed semi-annually and are mailed to the owner of record each spring and fall. Taxes paid after the due date are penalized 12% per annum, pro-rated on a daily rate.

This tax includes School, Town, State and County taxes. The Department of Revenue Administration sets the tax rate in October - November of each year with the new tax rate effective with the fall payment.
