Mosquito Control
The mosquito Control program began April 23rd. They are checking for mosquito larvae and if/when found the following insecticides may be used: VectoBac (Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis), Altosid (methoprene), Agnique MMF (poly-isoctadecyl-hydroxyl), Mosquito Larvicide GB-111 (aliphatic petroleum, hydrocarbons) and BVA 2 Mosquto Larvicide Oil (highly refined petroleum distillate).
If Eastern Equine Encephalitis or West Nile Virus is found in our neaqr Danville, then emergency spraying using Anvil (sumithrin), Permanone (permethrin), Flit (permethrin) or Suspend (deltamethrin) may be done at the following locations: Elementary School, Colby Pond Field, Goldthwaite Field, Day field, and Church Field. It is not possible to predict if emergency spraying will be necessary. The spray schedule is based upon mosquito surveillance data, disease testing results and weather conditions. Further communication will be given if emergency spraying is going to occur.
Residents who do not want their property treated must contact Dragon Mosquito Control in writing at P.O. Box 46, Stratham, NH 03885. Otherwise measures may be done on your property if needed.
