     Approved Veterans Services Now Available

HAMPSTEAD, NH: SarahCare’s compassionate, professional, comprehensive day care for the elderly now includes Veterans Administration approved services for eligible veterans.

Linda Steir, executive director of SarahCare, gratefully acknowledges the assistance of New Hampshire’s Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter in obtaining the five-year Veterans Administration contract to provide day care services for veterans. “Congresswoman Shea-Porter has demonstrated her commitment to veterans by her congressional support for two veteran’s bills, one of which sought a full-service Veterans Hospital or full local access to medical care for New Hampshire veterans,” noted Steir.

Eligibility for veterans to receive the SarahCare services at no cost to their families requires they served a minimum of one day during war time, be in the Veterans Administration Health Care system and have the day care services approved as appropriate by a VA hospital or clinic doctor.

SarahCare provides adult day care services to participants needing support to continue independent living; persons with memory loss; and, those needing assistance with activities of daily living. SarahCare, with its daily rate and no long term commitment, offers more affordable services than do assisted living and nursing home arrangements. More importantly, it allows the participants to remain as part of their family and their community.

The caring professionals at SarahCare partner with Dr. Thomas Cammilleri, Greater Hampstead Family Medicine to provide medical care. Registered and licensed nurses are onsite to deal with day-to-day health care issues.

On the third Thursday of each month SarahCare sponsors a CareGiver Support Group from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. The public is encouraged to come and participate. Experts offer advice and answer questions on how to provide the most cost effective and stress free care for loved ones.
