CONSERVATION COMMISSION

 

MINUTES OF OCTOBER 5TH, 2005

 

 

Present: Chris Giardano (Chairperson), Judy Jervis, Sheila Johannesen, Ron Comeau and Jason Holder.

 

Others present: Betsy Sanders

 

The meeting was called to order at 7:30PM and was televised.

 

 

1.      Minutes of September 21,2005 meeting- The Commission reviewed the minutes of September 21st.  Sheila made a motion to accept the minutes as written.  Ron 2nd the motion.  The vote was unanimous, with the exception of Sheila who abstained.

 

2.      NH Audubon Society- Judy emailed Andrew Robinson, from the NH Audubon Society.  The Danville CC recommended to the Selectmen to have the NH Audubon Society hold the Conservation Easement on our town forest properties.  The Selectmen approved our recommendation.  She told him that we would be moving forward with our easement deed and will be starting to review the boilerplate that he had sent and to get in order the town’s desires.  She also asked him for help for CC to find a surveyor who would be interested in surveying the boundaries.  CC has contacted a few, with no responses.  Chris said that he is still working on that also.  Judy also inquired about matching grants/funds/money to help for the survey work.   Mr. Robinson responded by email to Judy with a few more contacts and will ask about the grants.  Judy made some copies of the boilerplate Conservation Easement Deed.  A copy for Heritage Commission, Forestry Committee and the Selectmen were placed in their mailboxes for each group to review and give feedback to the CC.  The Commission discussed how they would proceed forward with the easement.

 

 

3.      Next Meeting- NROC (Natural Resources Outreach Coalition) Chris said that he would like to have Amada Stone for our next meeting.  A discussion of  when meeting nights would be better.  Chris will call Amada Stone and get back to the CC by email.

 

 

4.      NH Estuaries Project-The CC discussed the free technical assistance programs.

 

 

5.      Budget 2006-  Sheila said that the Selectmen approved the CC 2006 budget.  Chris had some questions about the budget and will follow up on them.

6.      Non-Public Session- Sheila made a motion to go to non-public session.  Since the discussion will involve consideration of land purchases.  Which, if discussed in public, might benefit a party whose interests are adverse to those of the general community, RSA 91-A:3II (d) should warrant a non-pubic session.  Judy 2nd the motion to go into a non-public session per RSA 91-A:3II (d).  Roll call by the Chair, Sheila yes, Ron yes, Jason yes, Judy yes, Chris yes.  The vote was unanimous. 

         Judy made a motion to adjourn the public meeting.  Ron 2nd the motion.  The vote was unanimous.

 

     Judy made a motion to adjourn.  Sheila 2nd the motion.  The vote was unanimous, the meeting adjourned at 9:15PM.
