CONSERVATION COMMISSION

 

MINUTES OF MARCH 9TH, 2005

 

 

Present: Chris Giordano (Chairperson), Judy Jervis, Sheila Johannesen and Jason Holder.

 

The meeting was called to order at 7:30PM and was not televised as the Heritage Commission was meeting in the main room and the Commission met in the smaller room. 

 

 

1.      Caleb Corners Map 1, Lot 45/Gregsak Engineering- Don Morrill, from Gregsak Engineering, met with the Commission to discuss Caleb Corners, map 1,lot 45.   The Commission reviewed the proposed plan of 24 lots.  And discussed rookery distance measurements, flood plan issues, Exeter Watershed regulations, re-flagging of the flags and the pending dredge and fill application.  Don said that Bill Gregsak would be attending a meeting with the Exeter River Council on March 22, 2005. 

 

 

2.      Minutes of Jan 5th, 2005- The Commission reviewed and discussed the minutes.  Judy made a motion to accept the minutes as written.  Jason 2nd the motion.  The vote was unanimous.

 

 

3.      Emerson Property/Wetland issues- The Commission discussed some concerns of the wetland issues, slash in the wetlands, trees cut in the wetlands.  The Commission agreed that a site walk needs to be done, Chris G. said we would need permission from the property owner.  The Commission will schedule a site walk.

 

 

4.      Board Appointments- Judy made a motion to nominate Chris G. as the Chairperson.  Jason 2nd the motion.  The vote was unanimous.  Jason made a motion to nominate Judy as Vice-Chair.  Sheila 2nd the motion.  The vote was unanimous.

 

 

5.      RPC/MasterPlan-Chris G. said he would follow up on this.

 

 

6.      NH Audubon Society- Judy read a letter from the NH Audubon Society.  The discussion of cost primary vs. secondary by the commission was discussed.  Chris G. will call Rockingham County Conservation District about associated fees, and Judy will contact NH Audubon Society.

a.       NHDES- Letter dated February 10th, 2005 regarding Lewis/TuckerTown Rd Dredge & Fill—Chris G. stated that the Heritage Commission would keep us informed.

Judy made a motion to adjourn.  Jason 2nd the motion.  The vote was unanimous.  The meeting adjourned at 9:30 PM
