CONSERVATION
COMMISSION
MINUTES OF
JANUARY 5,2005
Present: Chris Giordano (Chairperson), Laura Games, Judy Jervis, Sheila Johannesen and Jason Holder.
Also Present: Andrew Robertson, from NH
Audubon Society, Betsy Sanders.
The
meeting was called to order at 7:30PM and was televised.
Chris
G. opened the meeting welcoming Mr. Robertson.
1. NH Audubon Society, Andrew Robertson- Judy had contacted NH
Audubon Society regarding Conservation Commission easements. She had spoken to Mr. Robertson and had forwarded
him some information to review. Mr.
Robertson wanted to first tell the Commission that we had done a very thorough
job, well prepared information unlike other towns he has worked with. He said that they, NH Audubon Society, would
like to hold the easements either as the primary or the secondary. The primary would be responsible for the
monitoring of the easements and the defending of easements if need be. The amount is a one-time fee of $4,500.00
that would be placed in an escrow account.
They would also assist the Commission in grants for other possible land
purchases. The secondary is a check and
balance of the primary; they would just oversee that the primary carries out
all their duties. A discussion of land
surveys, grants, Forest Implantation Management Plan, restrictions vs. no
restrictions, review of town maps to name a few. Mr. Robertson will get back to the Commission
regarding some questions the board had; Judy will be the contact.
2. Minutes of November 3rd- The Commission reviewed and discussed the

land purchases. Laura suggested that
since the discussion would involve consideration of the acquisition of real
property, which, if discussed in public, might benefit a party whose interests
are adverse to those of the general community, RSA 91-A:3 II (d) session should warrant a
non-public session. Laura made a motion
to go into a non-public session per RSA 91-A:3 II (d). Jason 2nd the motion.
A role call by Sheila, Laura responded yes, Jason responded yes, Judy
responded yes, Chris G. responded yes, Sheila responded yes. The vote was unanimous. The status of potential land transactions was
discussed.
Sheila
