CONSERVATION COMMISSION

 

MINUTES OF JULY 7,2004

 

 

Present: Laura Games (Chairperson), Sheila Johannesen, Judy Jervis and Chris Giordano.

 

Others Present: Curt Springer

 

The meeting was called to order at 7:30PM and was televised.

 

Laura designated Sheila Johannesen, alternate, as a voting member.The Commission unanimously agreed. 

 

 

1.      Minutes Approval May5th-  The minutes of May 5th were reviewed and discussed, Laura proposed amendment to the minutes.  Sheila made a motion to accept the minutes as amended.  Chris G. 2nd the motion.  The vote to accept the amendment was unanimous, except for Judy who abstained.  

 

 

2.      Elections- The Commission discussed a rotation of Chairpersons.  Both Judy and Chris G. did not think that that was a good idea.  Laura asked the Commission members if any would be interested as Chairperson.  Chris G. stated he would like to try it for a year. Judy made a motion to nominate Chris G. as Chairperson.  Sheila 2nd the motion.  The vote was unanimous.  Sheila made a motion to nominate Laura as Vice-Chair.  Judy 2nd the motion.  The vote was unanimous.

 

3.      Conservation Commission Easement-  Laura suggested that a joint town boards and committee meeting should be held to discuss which organization the Town should deed the Conservation Easement to. It was decided that the joint public meeting should be held on August 4th, the same night and time as the regular Conservation Commission meeting.  Laura will send a memo to the Selectmen, Forestry Committee, Planning Board, Zoning Board of Adjustment and Recreation regarding the joint meeting. 

 

4.      Beaver Box Update- Laura said that she received an email back from Beaver Solutions, the analysis of the project has been mailed. She will have that for the next meeting.

5.      Potential Real Estate Transaction-The Commission elected to discuss potential land purchases. Laura suggested that since the discussion would involve consideration of the acquisition of real property, which, if discussed in public, might benefit a party whose interests are adverse to those of the general community, RSA 91-A: 3 ll. (d) should warrant a non-public session.  Judy made a motion to go into a non-public session per RSA 91-A: 3 ll (d).  Sheila 2nd the motion.  A role call by Laura, Judy response yes; Chris G. response yes; Sheila response yes; Laura response yes. The vote was unanimous. The Commission moved to a non-public meeting.                                                                                                                                                                                                      Chris G. made a motion to adjourn the public meeting. Sheila 2nd the motion.  The vote was unanimous. 

 

Chris G. made a motion to adjourn.  Judy 2nd the motion.  The vote was unanimous.  The meeting adjourned at 9:19PM.
