What is an Informal Hearing?

Toward the end of the Revaluation, every homeowner received a notice of their proposed valuation based on the analysis performed. These values were not final until the hearings were complete. Any homeowner who had a question or concern about the proposed valuation was asked to call Brett S. Purvis & Associates at (603) 522-9188 to schedule a date and time for an informal hearing. This informal hearing was not a forum to discuss taxes; it was strictly meant to answer questions on the property valuation. Homeowners were asked to come prepared with questions and have compared their property to other comparable ones in their neighborhood. The Assessor determined if a review of the property was necessary. All changes to value that occurred due to a hearing was reflected in the change notice that was sent after the hearings were completed.
